Just as most major researchers and archaeological experts believed that all of the major settlements of Native Americans in the regions had been discovered and duly mapped, a trip over the state’s Sonora desert proved them all wrong.
A research team, led by Dr. John Kantner of the University of North Florida, operated the drone. Equipped with a camera, the drone flew over the northwestern region of the state, where it uncovered this amazing new discovery.
Dr. Kantner noted that the use of drone camera technology effectively spared his research team the hardship, drudgery, and monetary cost of a full season of painstaking excavation. Dr. Kantner and his fellow researchers had suspected for some time that there were more remains to be discovered in the Chaco Canyon region, but simply had no way to prove this theory.
With the use of drone camera technology, the theory has finally been proven, and the discovery of a new Pueblo village is the icing on the cake.
